A McTolerant One-Man Show; The A-Gays: Stillwater, Oklahoma; John Michael and the Order of the Penix; Like Me; Crossing Your I’s. Matt passed away influencing John Michael’s move to Chicago, where he is premiering his 6th original one-man show Dementia Me.
This past fall, John Michael produced his Chicago five-week debut of DEMENTIA ME at the Den Theatre. In April, Richard Cotovsky invited him to premiere a workshop version of this show in the junk shop set of Mary-Arrchie Theatre’s American Buffalo, dramaturged by Ryan Hake. The second workshop performance took place in John Michael’s home base, the Margo Jones Theatre, in May. That show was produced by Nouveau 47 Theatre, where John Michael is resident artist.
Currently, JM is producing his second full length run. This time it’s six weeks and at Mary’s attic. In December, his hometown theater Nouveau 47 theatre hosted him for a workshop performance of Meatball Seance, spot directed by his long-time collaborator Erin Singleton. Meatball Seance started from a 9 minute scene, he developed as part of Potluck Variety Hour.
